Acute Coronary Syndrome and 12 Lead ECG Interpretation
Nearly 1.5 million Acute Myocardial Infarctions occur each year in the United States and about 1/3 of those end in death. This course will focus on the 12 lead ECG as a tool for quick assessment of ischemia, injury and infarction.
The student will be able to:
Discuss a conceptual approach to lead placement for the standard 12 lead ECG
Name the classic, indicative ECG signs of ischemia, injury and infarction
Differentiate between STEMI and NSTEMI ACS
Discuss the specific leads which relate to inferior, anterior, lateral and posterior AMI
