HeartCode PALS Part 1 is a self-directed, interactive, CD-based product that uses eSimulation technology to present 12 interactive, realistic hospital-based, pediatric patient cases that teach healthcare providers to evaluate and manage seriously ill infants and children. Interacting with the program, students assess each patient, formulate a treatment plan based on the PALS algorithm and the 2005 AHA Guidelines for CPR and ECC, and provide treatment in a virtual setting. Emergency Medical Services: This continuing education activity is approved by the American Heart Association, an organization accredited by the Continuing Education Coordinating Board for Emergency Medical Services (CECBEMS), for 12.00 Advanced CEHs, activity number 09-AMHA-F3-0058. Access to course for 1 year from initial license activation, allowing for student refresher options Includes a PDF version of the PALS provider manual. There are three steps in order to receive your PALS completion card: Step 1 Successfully complete the Part 1 cognitive portion of the program including patient scenarios and multiple choice exam Step 2 Successfully complete skills practice and a skills test (Parts 2 and 3) with an AHA PALS Instructor Step 3 Receive an official AHA PALS Provider course completion card
